About Me
I am a Scottish landscape artist based in Edinburgh. My location allows me to be close to Scotland’s beautiful coast and surrounding countryside providing me with endless inspiration for my work.

My Story
My journey as an artist began when I studied textiles design, specialising in knit, at the Scottish College of Textiles. After graduating with an Honours Degree, I went on to work in a textile workshop where I was first introduced to wool for felting and crafts. This is where my passion for using wool as a medium began.

I love the vast variation of natural wool. My preference is to source wool from Scottish breeds including Hebridean for its coarseness and Shetland for its finer fibres. The use of natural fibres from native sheep brings a sense of connection to the landscapes I portray in my work.

When choosing palette of colour, I use traditional techniques of carding dyed wool fibres together to achieve subtle variation of shades or use natural dyes from plants, berries and flowers to extract colour.

Wet felting is the process I use to create backdrop to my artwork. I build on the background using wool fibres for detail, free motion machine stitching, embroidery, and beadwork to add detail and embellishment.
